This website, https://kimseelingsmith.com (the “Site”), is owned and operated by Ignite Global Pty Ltd (ABN [INSERT ABN]), trading as Kim Seeling Smith (“we”, “us” or “our”). We provide keynote speaking, advisory and related services on AI, the future of work and leadership. 

We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it in an open and transparent way. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we collect and use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. 

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Because our audience and clients are located around the world, where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR applies to you, we also handle your personal information in accordance with those laws. 

2. What personal information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect: 

• Identity and contact details — your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, job title and country. 

• Booking and event details — information you provide when you ask about or book a speaking engagement, workshop, executive session or advisory service, such as event dates, audience details and budget. 

• Correspondence — the content of messages you send us through our contact forms, by email, by phone or through social media. 

• Marketing preferences — whether you have subscribed to our newsletter or downloaded a resource such as The C-Suite’s AI Playbook, and how you interact with our emails. 

• Payment details — where you purchase a service, payment is processed by secure third-party payment providers. We do not store your full card details on our systems. 

• Technical data — your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring pages and how you use the Site, collected through cookies and similar technologies. 

You do not have to provide personal information to browse the Site, but if you choose not to provide certain information we may not be able to respond to your query or provide services to you. 

3. How we collect it

We collect personal information: 

• Directly from you — when you complete a contact form, subscribe to our newsletter, download a resource, book a call through our scheduling widget, engage us for services or otherwise correspond with us. 

• Automatically — through cookies, analytics tools and the technology that powers the Site (see section 8, Cookies). 

• From third parties — for example, from event organizers or speaker bureaus who engage us on your behalf, or from publicly available professional sources such as LinkedIn. 

4. How we use your information

• respond to your questions and booking requests; 

• provide our speaking, advisory and related services and manage our relationship with you; 

• send you our newsletter and other updates on future trends, AI and the future of work, where you have subscribed or otherwise agreed to receive them; 

• deliver resources you have requested, such as downloadable playbooks and guides; 

• run, protect and improve the Site and our services, including through analytics; 

• keep business records and meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations; and 

• establish, exercise or defend legal claims where necessary. 

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, for marketing emails); performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering a contract (for example, responding to a booking request); our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights; and compliance with our legal obligations. 

5. Marketing and how to opt out

If you subscribe to our newsletter or download one of our resources, we may send you emails about future trends, AI, upcoming events, and our services. You can opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us using the details in section 13. We will action opt-out requests promptly. We do not sell your personal information. 

6. Who we share your information with

We may share personal information with: 

• Service providers who help us run our business — including our customer relationship management and marketing platform (LeadConnector / HighLevel), website hosting and maintenance providers, email delivery services, scheduling tools, analytics providers (such as Google), video hosting platforms (such as Vimeo) and payment processors. These providers may only use your information to provide services to us. 

• Professional advisers — such as our accountants, insurers and lawyers, where reasonably necessary. 

• Event partners — such as event organizers or speaker bureaus, where needed to deliver an engagement you are involved in. 

• Government bodies, regulators and law enforcement — where we are required or permitted by law to do so. 

7. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States (for example, LeadConnector / HighLevel, Google and Vimeo). Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles it in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. 

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies and your personal information is transferred outside the EEA or the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as transfers to countries with an adequacy decision or the use of standard contractual clauses.

If the GDPR or UK GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to ask us to delete your personal information, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

The Site and our services are directed at business audiences and are not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

The Site contains links to third-party websites and embedded third-party content. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
