Imagine it’s a Tuesday morning in 2026 and you can feel it in the air: work has shifted… but nobody rang a bell.

  • Your neighbour is walking the dog while approving invoices.
  • A friend quit on Friday and started something new on Monday – without leaving the company.
  • Your cousin is on the same salary, with the same employer, and somehow only works three days a week now.

Nothing exploded. No robot apocalypse. No dramatic “before and after” moment.

But the rules are different.

And if you’re a leader, manager, HR person, or business owner, this is the part you need to understand: the future of work isn’t a trend you can observe from a safe distance. It’s a power shift you’re going to have to respond to – whether you love it, hate it, or are still pretending it’s 2019.
