✨ I write a lot (clearly) — but I’m not a prolific author.

In fact, I’ve written exactly one book.

But it was a book I had to write. After completing over 5,000 exit interviews, I knew I had something important to say about employee engagement and retention.

In 2014, I found myself alone in Dallas, Texas. I magically had 10 days open up in my calendar. I was staying at a friend’s place – but they were away in Belize. It was perfect.

I wrote a chapter a day until it was done.

Then I found an editor and self-published.

And that little book — Mind Reading for Managers — has stood the test of time. The 9 Keys to Keeping Your Best People (or 9 Currencies of Choice®), the central model of the book, has literally created miracles in the workplace.

For almost a decade, I embedded this program into organizations.

Then… I moved on.

I became fascinated with future trends. The skills shortage. The Rise of the Empowered Workforce. AI. I shifted focus and spent very little time on this program.

But my why has always been the same:

👉 To empower humans.

👉 To help people love their work.

👉 So they have the discretionary energy to make their little corner of the planet a better place.

That’s my ding in the universe.

💥 And now it’s coming full circle.

Out of the blue, I received two invitations to present Mind Reading for Managers again:

🎯 First up — the Middle Managers Online Muster launching Wednesday. If you’re a middle manager, don’t miss this:

🎯 Second — one of my dream stages: The World Business Forum in Sydney.

So I’m taking it as a sign.

🌟 The world has changed dramatically since 2014.

🌟 But the model still stands — and is more important than ever.

📣 So here it is: I’m officially announcing that a Second Edition of Mind Reading for Managers is on the way.
