Millions of people are leaving ChatGPT. Here’s why – and how to make the move without losing anything.
Two things happened recently that crossed a line for a lot of people.
First: Anthropic – the company behind Claude – walked away from a $200M contract with the Department of War after the Pentagon pushed to use the AI for autonomous weapons systems and mass domestic surveillance of Americans. They said no. The Pentagon retaliated by designating Anthropic a supply chain risk and ordering federal agencies off Claude entirely.
OpenAI stepped in and took the contract. ChatGPT uninstalls surged 295% almost immediately.
(There’s real debate about whether OpenAI’s guardrails are actually stronger than what Anthropic refused – or just more carefully worded. The situation is still unfolding.)
Second: OpenAI co-founder and president Greg Brockman personally donated $25 million to MAGA Inc., Trump’s super PAC – the single largest donation in that fundraising cycle.
For some (millions of) people, that was the last straw.
The most common reason people haven’t made the switch yet? Fear of losing everything – memories, files, saved chats.
So I made a quick video walking through exactly how to migrate from ChatGPT to Claude (or another LLM) quickly, easily, and without losing a thing.
What do you think – is this something you’ve been considering?
