Today’s Every Day AI demo is personal.
I was playing around with Heygen for an upcoming keynote where I’ll show how AI can help people create lasting legacies for their children and grandchildren.
So I grabbed a random photo of my dad—literally snapped it with my phone from the “Hall of Mostly Dead Relatives” (yes, that’s what we lovingly call it). It wasn’t high quality. I wasn’t trying to be perfect.
But what came back? Honestly… it floored me.
The result was a moving, digital version of my dad—bringing him to life in a way I hadn’t seen since… well, since he was alive.
And it got me thinking:
Somewhere, I have a 30-second clip of his voice—buried in an old band concert recording. It’s the only audio I have of him. One day soon, I’ll dig it out, clone his voice, and pair it with a better photo.
Because now, thanks to AI, I can.
I can give my family—and myself—a version of him that lives on. A digital legacy. And while it won’t replace him, it can absolutely reconnect us.
This is the kind of thing that makes me tear up… and also why I love what I do.
AI isn’t just for spreadsheets, strategies, or shiny tech toys. It’s for stories. It’s for connection. It’s for keeping memories alive in ways we never imagined.
