🌱 One of the reasons I moved to the country was to grow my own veggies, and there’s nothing quite like eating what you’ve nurtured from seed to table. After much deliberation, we finally built a raised bed a few weeks ago, and I planted it yesterday.
The first few days with a new garden are my favorite—the plants are healthy, and the promise and potential are limitless. But then the real work begins. Every plant needs something different. Some crave nitrogen, others potassium. Some need regular pruning, while others thrive when left to grow wild. 🌿
As I was planting, I realized how similar this is to managing people. When you hire someone new, they’re full of potential and promise. But as they settle into the role, they require different kinds of care and attention. Some need more guidance, while others need space to innovate. 🌱
Unfortunately, too many managers either ignore their people, hoping they’ll grow on their own, or micromanage them, stifling their potential. Wise leadership is about understanding what each person needs to thrive and investing in their growth.
So here’s to nurturing our teams with the same care we give our gardens—because the harvest is always worth the effort. 🌾
