So there I was Friday night, sitting in bet 🛌 at 9:30 preparing to go to sleep only to wake up at 4:15 to catch my 6AM flight to Brisbane – and then on to Hong Kong and Chicago.
As I was ticking off my ✅ checklist, I thought, \”I need to plan my sleep schedule 💤 en route…I better check to see what the timings are on the two Cathay flights.”
I opened my laptop, jumped into the itinerary and TO MY HORROR 😱 realized that my flight from Brisbane to Hong Kong was at 12:55 AM!! instead of PM. In my defense, most itineraries are in 24 hour time…but not Cathay’s!
This meant that I was supposed to be on a flight from Brisbane to Hong Kong in 3.5 hours – and I was currently 14 hours away from Brisbane!!
Clearly that wasn’t going to happen!!! 🤦🏼♀️
So I jumped onto American Express to change my long haul ticket (only a change fee (whew!)) and Qantas to change my domestic flight down to BNE (a bit more than a change fee but not bad).
It all worked out in the end. I got to have a lie in instead of waking up at 0:Dark Early. I got to spend another day with my partner David 👩❤️💋👨 and my dog 🐕 Bindi and even made the baggage allowance of 32 kilos (just – my bag is 31.8 kilos! LOL I blame it on the dive gear. 🐠
