In preparation for tomorrow\’s solar eclipse, I thought I\’d post something planetary. Humans are emotional beings. Often they are unpredictable. Some would say they are downright mercurial (planetary reference here. 😀), which according to the Oxford Dictionary means, \”Subject to sudden or unpredictable changes of mood or mind.\”
Over the last several decades as I\’ve my own teams, and worked with and observed thousands of people managers, I\’ve come to understand that a big part of any manager\’s role is to help their team manage their emotional state.
Especially post Covid. Especially with Gen Z.
This is a hard pill to swallow for many managers, and our processes and practices are not set up for this.
But the companies to take this more human, more individualistic approach to leadership will prevail in this talent short, highly chaotic market.
