Do you know what the \’Mouse Shuffle\’ is? No, it\’s not the latest TikTok craze. It\’s employees gaming the system by using devices to shuffle their mouse so they look productive. 🖱️
Shocking you say? 😱
How about the fact that companies are STILL monitoring productivity by spying on people\’s mice movements or keyboard clicks instead of setting outcome based goals to which they hold those employees accountable?
That\’s what I find shocking. 🤦🏼♀️
When we stop treating employees like children they will stop acting like it. People rise (or fall) to the level expected of them.
It\’s what stops us from being able to make hashtag#hybridwork, work…an argument that is still happening and highlighted by the NSW State Premier calling all public servants back into the office.
If we can\’t get this one simple change to our workforce and workplace right, how in the world are we going to cope with the changes that we are about to start seeing caused by #AI?
It\’s a real worry for our economy and our mental health.
