Happy New Year!
I hope you had a glorious holiday break and are starting 2026 strong.
I am convinced that 2026 will be a pivotal year for all of us in so many ways. From AI adoption to the shifting geopolitical landscape to the effects of climate change and the energy transition, I think we are in for a roller coaster of a year.
Not to mention the end of Australian innocence since the Bondi pogrom. Police carrying long guns at the Sydney Cricket Grounds?!?! That’s not Australia – or wasn’t.
I’ll write more about my thoughts on all of this starting next week. I’m still getting my feet under my desk after a wonderful 2-week break. Well, wonderful in the sense that I got an insane amount done around the house (some projects almost 6 years in the making). Not wonderful because 600 mil (about 2 feet) of rain between Christmas Eve and today meant that we didn’t get to do any of the fun things we’d planned.
So, for this week, I thought I’d post a fun interview I did last Wednesday with Jimmy Szabo of 3AW on Future Workplace Trends.
I cut the recording off too soon. So when you get to the end, know that I said something about they key to hybrid work is to take it on a team by team basis, get them to design what works for them and reassess every quarter.
But that was just a small part of the conversation. Listen to the full interview for some of the other trends I am seeing.
One of the BIG trends will continue to be AI. With that in mind, I’m HIGHLY encouraging everyone to upskill themselves.
I’m offering a couple of opportunities in February to do so. Check them out here:

Until next week…
